Paper cookies
Chloe wanted to know if we "eat paper cookies tomorrow at church". I think she is referring to communion wafers. Well, they do taste a lot like paper and they look like little cookies. I guess she flunked 'Last Supper 101'.

Race for a Cure
Yesterday, Melody, Chloe and I went downtown for the annual Komen Race. It is always a surreal experience to see 65,000 people come together for a great cause. We saw some interesting shirts this year. One says "SAVE THE TATAS", one says "I LOVE MY GIRLS" and another says "YES, THEY'RE FAKE. MY REAL ONES TRIED TO KILL ME". This got me thinking... what would the shirts say for the annual prostate cancer race?

Food Adventure Club
Tonight we tried a 'tapas' restaurant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapas Tapas is Spanish for "tiny portions at a high price". The food was pretty good. The portions are very small, though. The idea is to order a lot and share it. It is difficult to share a salad of 5 leaves, 2 oz of beef medallions, or a thimble of soup though. The restaurant was very pretty, though. It was done in all different shades of blue, with blue LED lights everywhere. The top of the bar was a big ice cube. Very cool. Next stop... Mongolian BBQ.

Happy Earth Day
So, this morning Charlie had his routine 15 month check at the doctors. I showed him Charlie's funny dots. For those of you who didn't know, I was concerned that he might have a slight case of chicken pox, but turns out that the Dr. thinks they are probably some kind of bug bites. Who has been munching on my baby???
He also noted that Charlie has an ear infection. Really? He acts fine. He eats as much as usual. no fever. Oh well, another round of Amoxicillin.
We then ventured out to our new Super Wal*mart. I am not usually a big fan of Wally World, but I figured I needed to check out the new one. I was surprisingly impressed. The usually crowded, dirty aisles were wide enough for 2 carts to pass each other and the floor was still relatively white. I also was pleased with the unusual ease of parking. I really liked that I could get my grocery shopping done the same place that I bought my paper products and flowers to plant. I just might have a new favorite store.
Later, Chloe and I are going to celebrate Earth day by taking the wagon around our neighborhood and picking up trash. Her idea, NOT MINE! Then we will plant some daises. My idea.
On a more serious note, I have been following a few blogs about families with kids who really need our prayers. It really helps me keep my crazy life in perspective. when I get frustrated with Charlie screaming, I remember to be thankful that he is able to scream and not hooked up to a ventilator with a tube stuffed down his throat. These are some amazing families in very trying situations. Please remember them when you bow your heads tonight....

Happy Palm Sunday!

So, today is traditionally the day that we remember Jesus entering Jerusalem a few days before his death. He was going to celebrate the Passover and the people were so thrilled to see Him. They laid their coats and palm branches down on the ground to make a carpet for His donkey. What an exciting day. The people were all shouting. I try, but can't imagine what it would have been like to be in that crowd. This is definitely my favorite week of the year. Have a good one!

we are runners...
Amy and I are doing so well. I am so proud of us! We rewarded ourselves with breakfast at IHOP after our "long run" today. Our schedule has us running some and walking some. As the weeks go on, we run more and walk less. By week 10, we should be ready to run our 5 K. Thank you for everyone's support.
