Do I have the silliest boy ever?

He has a bowl of ice cream in front of him, and what does he ask for??? Green Beans!

Packing his lunch... everybody needs a box of Mac-n-Cheese.

Flirting with a towel :)

Once upon a time...

A few crazy moms decided to forgo real coffee and showers to take 10 screaming girl scouts camping for the weekend. They stayed in cabinswith silly names like Sacaja-waky-wack...
and had a fantastic time with their friends until their moms begged and pleaded for some sleep!

Susie and Skyler had a good time. Susie made friends for life when she packed some coffee.

Skyler helped her friends tie their shoes,

and all the girls learned how to start a fire. Who would have thought a pack of matches would have brought so much enjoyment to a bunch of 7 year olds?!?

Julie and Lilly enjoyed burned pancakes and bacon, and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs.

The girls got to clean up after their messy moms :)

and totally enjoyed the outdoors experience.

They hiked along the Peace Path,

and saw a... hippo in the Cuivre River?!?

There was a tree that has witnessed a great many things. It must be in the Witness Protection Program.

Chloe learned how to sweep the sidewalk.

And the Brownies met M. Night Shyamalan.*

The girls learned much about nature

and saving our earth.

They all enjoyed the time together without TV, computers or cell phones...

or stoves.

Beth and Ella played Jesse James

while they waited for their pizza to burn. The only camp food better than hotdogs, delicious corn on the cob, chips and fruit is ...

s'mores in the rain!!!

Anna and Celeste inadvertently dressed like twinkies.

Unfortunately, the end had to be near. Saying goodbye is sometimes so hard. Fortunately, the girls will see each other again the following day.

THE END

*just kidding :)

Chelsea enjoyed her first High school football game on Friday! This is a rite of passage for a new high schooler. Charlie and daddy enjoyed a game of catch, also.

Go Dawgz!

Friday night lights... and the band.

grilled pizza

... who woulda thought? Chuck found these Tandori Naan flatbreads, where else... but Costco! There was a recipe on the back for grilling them, so we decided to doctor them up as pizzas.

We each chose our own toppings. Fresh mushrooms, onions, garlic, tomatoes and peppers.

We added provolone cheese and tomato sauce.

One burned thumb later, here is the finished product...

delicicioso!

el Mexican BBQ

Tonight we had some great (KU lovin) friends over for a BBQ... Mexican style. One of our favorite meals is fajitas, and Chuck likes to do them on the grill.

My poor husband is getting old

Happy birthday, baby! It is so sad to turn 37. By the looks of these pictures, you would never guess that he actually begins celebrating his birthday ever year at the end of July.
Don't let the pictures fool you, September 5 is like a national holiday at our house. It almost trumps Christmas!

And finally, Charlie wanted to show off his big muscles (and his new, cool tattoo)!
