My very good friend, Jill, lives on a farm and found an approximately 3 week old kitten. She needed someone to care for the kitty over the weekend while her family was busy with soccer tournaments.

The kids adored the baby, so I began thinking... maybe we could keep her!

Unfortunately, both kids and Chuck are pretty allergic to her...

bring on the nebulizer :(

Ann and I have talked for years about getting matching tattoos. Well, we finally did it! I am very pleased with the way they turned out, but it hurt like he##! They guy said that the top of your foot is a very sensitive area because there is not any sub-q tissue. Unfortunately, he told me this after he started.

We spent a very short period of time at the park. I like this park a lot, just down the street from my mom's house. Unfortunately, it was 103 degrees out.

And finally, we had some fun with... a hairnet?!?

You should never be sick on your vacation

Unfortunately, Chloe started a fever last night. We had spent the day at the pool, so I thought maybe the heat had just gotten to her. She had some Tylenol for dinner and went to bed early. When we woke this morning she complained of a headache and sore throat. Still had a fever. More Tylenol and off to the Mills mall for lunch at Rainforest Cafe. I had some deicious mushroom ravioli in a lobster sauce. Chloe had no appatite :(

After lunch, we went back to my sisters for a nap. A nap?!? That's not typical. After she woke up, her fever was back with a vengance. So, we got to visit the local Urgent Care where we got a script for an antibiotic for her STREPT THROAT.

Wednesday we went to Six Flags. It was pretty hot, so we didn't stay too long.

Thursday we went to NRH2O. We had a blast!! There was a nice breeze and a few clouds, so the temperature wasn't too bad.

I can't remember what day it is... sign of a good vacation!

Day 1/2 vacation

On Saturday, we drove down to Texas for a little vacation. My mom flew in on Friday evening to drive with us. In true Otterman fashion, she missed her first flight and nearly got stranded in Chicago during a layover. Alas, she made it to STL, only to drive back home with her two screaming grandchildren. Thank you mom, you're the best!

Sunday we had a delicious pork roast and enjoyed sidewalk chalk art of questionable talent. I got a rare chance to visit a Sam's Club. As most of you know, we are huge Costco fans.

Monday we enjoyed lunch at Market Street (yum sushi) and then swimming with Aunt Ann. Below you will note a photo of me digging in the trash can outside our hotel. No, I was not drunk, though I wished I were. I had lost my keys. I parked about 100 feet away from the front desk when we arrived at the hotel. Somewhere between my car and the desk, my keys disappeared. After tearing apart my purse, car and the lobby, we decided some evil (probably A&M fan) had stolen them. While sweating about calling Chuck to have him overnight my spare key and fretting about the tongue lashing that I was about to get... the phone rings... the evil Aggie returned my keys that were apparently taken by mistake from the front desk. PHEW! Crisis averted! Time for a big 'ol Margarita!!
